Final lineup of the Perfect Chapter powered by Billabong 2024 revealed

CASCAIS (January 9, 2024) – The 10th annual Capitulo Perfeito powered by Billabong voting period ended yesterday (Monday), leading up to the 16 final contenders.

Surf fans around the world had the final say on who will be the Portuguese surfers attending the one-day tube riding contest taking place at Carcavelos Beach, Portugal, within a 2-month holding period that starts today. The voting went on for 5 days at www.capituloperfeito.com reaching 18.000 votes.

Pedro Boonman, Francisca Veselko and João Maria Mendonça secured their spot on the heat draw by dominating the fans’ preferences.

After including female representation on the Portuguese Surfers category for the first time, the event’s organization saw current World Junior Champion Francisca “Kika” Veselko stand out as one of the most voted candidates, becoming the first woman to enter the competition in the history of Capitulo Perfeito.

In the New Generation category (Under-18), the young gun popping out was Salvador Vala.

The four (4) elected Portuguese surfers are joining all previous event champions – Anthony Walsh, Aritz Aranburu, Bruno Santos, Nic von Rupp, Tiago Pires and William Alliotti – as final contenders to the most exciting surf contest taking place in Europe today.

Also featuring the Surfers List is a mix of legendary tube hounds and former CT pros who received a direct invitation to compete in the 10-Year Anniversary of Capitulo Perfeito, namely, Rob Machado, Nathan Florence, Michael February, Balaram Stackand Dylan Graves.

They are all taking part in a full-day competition in pumping conditions at CarcavelosBeach, chasing massive, hollow waves and a 40.000€ global prize money.

One final wildcard will be assigned via Trials, which are coming about tomorrow at Carcavelos Beach with a 07h30 first call, seeking to secure the participation of a local hero in the main event.

The remaining Portuguese surfers – those who were not selected – stay linked to the event as alternates and may be called to compete in case of withdrawal by the leading contenders.
